Texas Waterfront Living at its Finest!

Long John Silver Treasure Island is a charming little resort community located in the middle of Lake McQueeney in central Texas. Just over 200 private homes line the lakefront, coves, canals and treelined streets of this quaint little Island. In the vein of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel, streets like Admiral Benbow, Trelawney, Spyglass and Royal George Circle loop around the tiny island which is just half a mile long and less than quarter of a mile wide.

An exclusive location for summer homes on Lake McQueeney, the "Waterski Capital of Texas", Treasure Island is popular with Houstonites who come to the area in summer to avoid the hot humid summers in East Texas. It's also a popular spot for "Winter Texans", people who can afford to get away from the cold dreary winter in the Northern U.S. and Canada and come down to enjoy the mild Texas winters.

Treasure Island Lakefront home Originally developed in the 1950's, small lakeside cottages have been largely replaced by multi million dollar waterfront mansions. Still a 'deal' by most standards for waterfront communities around the U.S., bargain hunters can still snap up charming little homes on interior lots for under $250K and canalfront homes for under $400K.

Another wonderful location on Lake McQueeney just a little ways up river from Treasure Island is the exclusive gated waterfront community of Las Brisas. Folks looking for a very upscale residential waterfront community can look here as well.
